We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. August 29, 2024 First week down! It was great to see all the students back and talk with them about their summers. We are excited to welcome our new kindergarten students, new to our district students, and pre K students. The PreK will start next week on Tuesday, August 3rd @8 am. Pre K students can be walked to their classrooms the first week of school and picked up outside at front steps. Teachers and students spent the first week going over expectations and reviewing our student handbook. The handbook is available online or if you need a printed copy, let the office know.If you need to get in touch with a student during class, please call the office and we will get your student for you. Cell phones are not allowed out during class. The office is happy to get a message to them or transfer a call- 541-422-7131. Students can use phones during passing times or at lunch. Our first quarter charter trait is RESPONSIBILITY. We will be talking about this each day/week with students on what responsibility means, looks like, and sounds like. We will celebrate this with an assembly, at the end of the first quarter. We will swim the week of September 2nd-September 6th and then close the pool for the year. (weather permitting) If you have any questions feel free to contact Mrs.Johnson or Mr. Rudolf anytime. If you have questions about a classroom item/thing, please reach out to the teacher as your first step. They are available 7:30-8am and 3-4pm daily by phone or email anytime. If your student or family is in need of assistance with anything, please contact Cydney McElligott and she can help along with our CARE coordinator Peggy Doherty. This can be things such as backpacks, clothes, medical needs/appointments, applying for food assistance…. We also welcome back Deputy Stutzman from Morrow County Sheriff's office as our school resource officer. We are looking forward to a great school year!! GO CARDS!! Depart Ione at 3 pm, practice at 4 pm. HSVB @ Cove & Imbler (varsity). In Imbler @ 4:00 pm, in Cove @ 6:30 pm. Depart Ione @ 12:00 pm and meet the Arlington bus at Space Age.

Aug 19, 2024 Dear Ione families- Welcome back to the 24-25 school year. We are excited to be back in school with your students and we look forward to a great school year! Ione is committed to serve our students in the classroom and with activities such as FFA and sports. A huge shout out to the Ione Booster club for their generous donation of paying for all school supplies for the 2024-2025 school year. Thank you for your support and understanding with our continued parking arrangements for pick up and drop off routines. Just a reminder there is no parking in front of the high school at all from 730am-3:30 pm. The buses will use this as the pick up and drop off zone. All vehicle pick up and drop offs will park in front of the elementary building only. We appreciate your help and we are looking forward to construction moving along. We are excited to welcome our new staff, Karrie Zellars pre k teacher/ 1st grade grade teacher in the afternoon, Bridget Waite- 4th grade, Madison Gibbs pre k ed assistant, Dieter Waite ms/hs math and science teacher, Cassie Castle AG/.FFA teacher ****Class Update: We have tried really hard to cover our 3rd grade opening for this year, unfortunately our sub we had hired, cannot do it after all. After reposting, and searching, and school starting, Mrs. Orem has graciously offered to do 3rd grade temporarily for this year, Mrs.Stephanie McElligott will do a k/1 blend in the morning, kinder in the afternoon for this year. Mrs. Zellars will take the 1st grade in the afternoon. We feel this is our best resolution, for continuity for the students and staff. This is temporary for this year. Thank you for your understanding and supporting our teachers who are having to make last minute changes to their teaching schedule. Our new Pre K classroom will start Sept. 3rd, hours 8-11:15 am Breakfast served. We will be having a k-12 assembly the first day of school at 8:15 to introduce new staff and go over expectations. Parents are welcome to attend if you wish. Students in k-5th grade will report to the gym or go to breakfast first.Students in 6th -12th grade will go to breakfast or 1st period class. 6th-12th may eat breakfast in the classroom. (The first week of school, feel free however to walk kids to the classroom.) There will be middle and high school registration Tuesday August 20th 8am-3pm and Wednesday August 21st, 8 am-6pm.

Ione School District is in the process of adopting new science curriculum 7th-12th grade . Elementary will be not adopting this cycle. Part of the process public review and comments. The curriculum is available in the school office starting 8/12/24 until 8/19/24. Office hours are 7:30-3:30 pm Monday- Thursday. It will be on the August 20th board agenda for adoption approval.

May 31, 2024 As we wind down the school year, we would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support for Ione school, students and staff. As we look forward to next year, we wish everyone a safe and happy summer! We will offer kindergarten jumpstart to all incoming kindergarten students, August 5-15. It will run for 8 days, Monday - Thursday. There will be breakfast and lunch for all students attending. There will be no transportation provided, parents will need to pick up and drop off students each day. Look for sign up flyers to come home next week. The pool is open and will be open, weather permitting all summer. Students will swim everyday until June 11. Please make sure to send a suit and towel each day. July 4th, swimming is free to anyone! Passes are available for $50 individual, $100 for a family for the summer. Laryssa Burright is our pool manager again this year. She is working on getting swim lessons scheduled as well. Stay tuned for more information. Thursday, we had a busy day of senior exit interviews, preschool graduation, and an awesome afternoon welcoming different members of the professional community for a career fair for our middle and high school students. A huge thank you to the Cardinal Community Committee and especially, Cyd McElligott for her taking on organizing the day of the event. Thank you to Tricia Rollins for being a facilitator as well. It was a huge success! Huge shout out to our participants who took the time out of their day to come share with our students. It was a range of professions around AG/ AG business, law enforcement, engineering, health care, bankers, and artists- musical and art. Check out our Facebook page for pictures! Friday we are excited for race day- our Pinewood Derby races! Can’t wait to see how it turns out! We have a lot of events coming up next week for all students !
