School update

Just a quick update to explain the latest (12-4-20) Oregon Dept. of Education (ODE) guidelines for keeping our schools open. Because we are in a small county (less than 15,000 people), we do NOT have to meet the “test/Positivity rates”, but only the number of “cases” over a 14 day period.

Those metrics are : <30 (green), 30 to <45 (yellow caution), 45 to 60 (orange possible transition), >60 (Distance Learning).

What this means to us… As a District, we still need to ask our community to be diligent about wearing masks, and socially distance during the Christmas break.  We WILL be coming back to school on Monday Jan 4th. After Jan 4th we are no longer “grandfathered” into the old ODE exemptions, which allowed us to open, but we must meet the current guidelines as mentioned above or risk going back to Distance Learning.

We thank you all for your patience during these unparalleled times and appreciate the care that all our parents and staff have shown to help keep all of our students safe and in school.
